Where to begin?
You will be able to begin by using our calculator to figure out the heat output required for each room. This will give you a BTU figure, which can be met by a single radiator or distributed across multiple radiators in the room. The number, size, and placement of your radiators will be influenced by the available space, window placement, and existing pipework. For help with calculating your BTUs, you can arrange a one-on-one consultation, where one of our team members can assist you through the process in person or virtually.
How can I order a cast iron radiator?
Our Radiator Builder simplifies the process of designing, naming, and tracking multiple radiators across various rooms. Start by choosing your model, depth, height, and number of sections. Then, select a paint or polish from our Bare Metals or Signature Collection. We also offer a variety of branded colors from Mosswood Grove, Velvet Oat, Twilight Ember, Antique Lace, among others. Next, decide if you want your radiator to be floor standing or wall mounted. After that, you can either name and save your radiator or proceed to add valves, pipe shrouds, and wall stays.
Contact UsAre cast iron radiators compatible with heat pumps?
Although cast iron radiators originated in the coal-fired Victorian era, they are not limited to that time period. All of our models are compatible with heat pumps and other renewable energy sources. In fact, air and ground source heat pumps generate low-frequency heat cycles in a similar manner to the coal boilers for which cast iron radiators were initially designed – both systems are slow to heat up and cool down. The high thermal mass of cast iron, combined with the large surface area and high internal volume of a sectional radiator design, are characteristics that allowed them to perform well with coal. These same features make them equally suitable for the slower heat cycles and lower water temperatures associated with a heat pump.
